Diary of an Immortal: Part 28Looking into the Dark   
What was next was not what I would have expected and certainly not something I'm overly proud of.  I had initially thought I'd spend my new-found freedom in New York City working at that sweet little café in Greenwich Village listening to the little bands and up and coming artists while I cleared my head and straightened out my life that had been turned upside down since that summer when I fell in love with a satyr and became immortal.   
It turns out a safe and peaceful environment was not what I needed.  Though I didn't really see it then, I know now that I was angry and Diary of an Immortal: Part 28

My final visit with Angela and Charlie to return the tiara was brief and tearful.  I didn't tell them much about the dream as I wasn't really ready to talk about it yet; nor did I give much explanation as to why I showed up on their doorstep on a Sunday morning with puffy eyes and a suitcase in the car – they figured that part out pretty easily.   
They actually offered to let me stay with them, but I reluctantly turned them down.  Truth is that was likely the first place my parents would come looking for me and if my father showed up, I knew I'd go home again.  I was a Diary of an Immortal: Part 27

A hand shaking my shoulder was what woke me.  "Get up," my mother's voice ordered, sounding unusually harsh and cold.  "And get that disgusting thing off your head."   
I opened my eyes and fumbled confusedly around, not knowing right away what could possibly be on my head that was so horrible.  Finding the tiara, I guiltily pulled it off.  She knew! was all I could think.

Excuses, Excuses

So, I'm going away for Turkey Day and won't be back till Saturday (or Sunday, depending on the weather...)

And Wednesday seemed gratuitously early to upload something that's usually uploaded on Fridays.

That all said, I won't be uploading this week's installment of Diary of an Immortal until Saturday or Sunday.
(Okay I'll confess, I haven't finished this week's piece yet)

That IS some horrible stuff! That's like first-quarter-art-school-never-touched-Photoshop-before horrible!

Avon has committed some similar faux pas and - oddly - Redbook (like their notoriously wretched cover of Jennifer Aniston a couple years back) [link] - sorry I couldn't find a better image, you won't be missing much though - it was B-A-D!
